Cinematek

Koninklijk Belgisch Filmarchief becomes ‘Cinematek’ and officially opens on the 31st of January the renewed museum. ACE’s IT and technical guru Karl Huysmans designed and installed the network and hardware infrastructure of the museum with exposition screens and consoles (moviolas) where visitors can consult and view preselected and digitised material from the museum archives. Bram Biesbrouck (freelance developer for ACE) is the architect of the database/digital library of the museum and ACE supported the museum in digitising part of the archives in HD for exposition purposes.

Vermist II and Barco

Joost Vankerckhove started grading the second season of the TV series ‘Vermist’. The grading is done on Coloris with the latest reference LCD monitor from Barco.
Barco’s 23” High-Definition reference monitor is an ideal display solution for studio professionals who are performing color-critical work on a daily basis and is the market’s first true grade-1 LCD display with this level of image quality. ACE has the honour of using the prototype of this monitor in test and of giving feedback to the engineers at Barco.

Ne te retourne pas

ACE has been working on this project with Victor Studio and Mikros (for animation and shading) since April 2008. The project is now in its final stage. ACE’s team of compositors with Bert, Sepehr, Ivo and Jelmen has been reinforced with Caroline (BE), Raphaël (FR) and Hasraf and Marc, both experienced Nuke operators and visual effects compositors from the UK. The work is interesting but demanding and requires a close interaction with the director Marina De Van.

The film is about the adventures of 4 girls (played by the popular Dutch female band KUS) ending up in a village where time stood still for about 200 years.
